Cover Reveal special edition
TWO cover reveals for you!
Hi there! I’m Amie Kaufman, NYT and internationally bestselling author of The Isles of the Gods, Illuminae, Aurora Rising, Lady’s Knight, These Broken Stars, and many more. This newsletter is the place to learn about my latest releases or events, and to follow along behind the scenes as I find my way through writing, and through life.
Hi, my friends.
Do I have a treat for you today! I come before you with not the one cover reveal I promised, but with TWO! Read on for preorder discounts, giveaways, and glorious, glorious artwork. And it turns out I don’t just have news for UK readers, but the US and Aussies too!
Red Star Rebels: UK edition
First, I have the UK cover art for Red Star Rebels, which will appear on my Instagram account in just under an hour — I admit I am only just keeping my promise to show you things first, but I’ve squeaked in under the wire!
I’m so thrilled to announce that Hot Key Books will be publishing Red Star Rebels, and have been so wonderful and supportive as we’ve prepared for our countdown!
Feast your eyes on this gorgeous piece by Michael Rogers – is it not incredible? It feels like an action movie poster in the best way. I love the colours, the portraits, the little details – I can’t tell you how rare it is for an author to be shown a piece of cover art, and just report back with ‘I love it, no notes!’
If you’re in the UK, then I have two particular things for you to pay attention to today:
1. If you head to my Instagram account in an hour for the reveal, you can enter to win one of two early copies!
2. If you’re keen to preorder (please do, I have a delightful new editor to impress!) then from now until Friday 17th, you can preorder Rebels from Waterstones for 25% off, using the code OCTOBER25. You can find it here.
If you’re in the US, your cover reveal already happened, and you can find it here. You can also find all the preorder links you might wish for here! And if you’re an Aussie, watch this space!
It’s 2067, and the Graves family has transformed Mars from a lifeless rock into a chaotic patchwork of settlements. You can buy a one-way ticket to a new life—if you’re rich.
Enter Hunter Graves, the handsome, ambitious grandson of the man who settled Mars. With spectacularly bad timing. Hunter arrives at the United Nations base just as an emergency evacuation sends everyone fleeing for safety. Except he’s left behind. Uh oh.
Also stranded: Cleo, a sharp-tongued stowaway with no intention of dying today, and even less patience for overconfident trust fund boys. But the enemy of your enemy might just help you survive… so here we are.
It turns out the evacuation was just a cover for the mercenaries who came next, and their plan to blow up the base—and every trace of their crime—in eight hours.
Now, Hunter and Cleo have one shot to stop the explosion, escape alive, and deal with the inconvenient fact that they’re falling for each other.
The clock is ticking.
But Amie, you said TWO cover reveals?
I sure did! Meg and I didn’t realise we were going to get to share this so soon, but we just got the go-ahead, so let’s do it while we’re in the groove.
Drumroll please, for the title and worldwide cover reveal for the sequel to Lady’s Knight…
Yes, we did that with the title. No, we’re not sorry. Honestly, we’re quite proud of ourselves.
The art is again by the brilliant Elizabeth Wakou, and as you can imagine, we love everything about it. How perfect is this going to look next to the hot pink of Lady’s Knight? We love the girls’ expressions, Isobelle’s fashion, Gwen’s badass sword, the incredible colours, and… what’s that? The tentacles? Don’t worry about those. Everything is fine. Everything is fine.
One Knight Stand will be out in June, and here’s a little about it:
Dearest reader… let me catch you up.
Gwen, our lady knight.
Isobelle, our knight’s lady.
They fight monsters, and they’re in love. Well, they fought one monster, once. And while they are in love, they haven’t discussed that fact with each other, and neither wants to be the first to bring it up. This is going to be fine.
This story includes:
Seaside mysteries
Brooding redemption arcs
A cursed town
A sea monster
Medieval tourist attractions
An evil sorceress
A crumbling dark tower
Moonlit magical rituals
(Ignore all the tentacles, everything is definitely fine…)
Saddle up your dragons: We’re going on a road trip!
We can’t wait to tell you more about it, but for now, if you’re in the UK, then you can also get 25% off your preorder at Waterstones with the code OCTOBER25 – you won’t see a better deal than this, so jump on it! (US and Aussie friends, stand by – your preorder links are coming later!)
This cover will be revealed later this week on our Instagram accounts, so until then, hush hush!
And that’s it (that’s enough!) for this special edition newsletter. I’ll be back at the start of November with your regularly scheduled programming – see you then!

BEAUTIFUL!!
This UK cover is STUNNING. I'm obsessed! Congratulations, friend!
