Hi there! I’m Amie Kaufman, NYT and internationally bestselling author of The Isles of the Gods, Illuminae, Aurora Rising, These Broken Stars, and many more books besides. This newsletter is the place to learn about my latest releases or events, and to follow along behind the scenes as I find my way through writing, and through life.
Hi, my friends.
I usually avoid dropping into your inboxes unless it’s our monthly catch-up, but I have some time sensitive news that can’t wait — and we’re exactly a month out from the release of The Heart of the World, so I want to give you a big round-up of everything that’s going on. Let’s get into it, and there’s a puppy photo waiting for you at the end as a reward. She’s a good dog.
In this issue:
USA ebook sale: $1.99 right now
Australia: Melbourne and Sydney events
Also, I’m touring in the US

And finally, a puppy picture
If you’ve got questions about anything in this newsletter, leave a comment and I’ll drop in to answer them.
USA ebook sale: $1.99 right now
If you’re in the US, right now you can grab The Isles of the Gods as an ebook for just $1.99 from all retailers — but not for long! This offer ends on Sunday night, or maybe Monday. I know, you’d think I know, but these sorts of sales are a bit mysterious to authors, as well as to readers.
With the sequel one month away, as of today, this is the perfect time to read! Here’s my best shot at links — as an Aussie I’m geofenced off from most of these, so fingers crossed they work! Amazon, Kobo, Apple Books and Barnes & Noble.
Australia: Melbourne and Sydney events
Sydney, we’ve added you to the roster! I’ll be at Kinokuniya on September 5th with the brilliant Lili Wilkinson, and we would love to see your faces. Tickets are free, but bookings are essential. Grab your ticket here.
Melbourne, I’ll be launching The Heart of the World on August 28th in a joint event with the gorgeous Kate J. Armstrong. Tickets are free but bookings are essential — the venue does have a top capacity, and booking numbers are already high. You can book tickets here.
Also, I’m touring in the US
I know most of you are all over this, but I’ve had an influx of new subscribers, so in case you’re one of them, you can find tickets by clicking here.
There’s also plenty of FAQs at that link, including signing guidelines and a quick explanation of how events work, in case they’re new to you, and it’s helpful to have the information ahead of time.
And if you preorder, you should claim your gift
This gorgeous set of prints is available to everyone with a US, UK or Aussie mailing address — or anyone who can borrow one, to be honest. You can find the forms, and the FAQ by clicking here.
Note that if you’re coming to one of the US tour stops, you should wait and buy your copy there — it’s required to enter the signing line, so buy on the night. You’ll have until the end of Sept 21st to lodge, so you won’t miss your chance.
Seriously, look at these things. Don’t you want to frame them?
Every time you preorder a book, an author spares the life of a character you love. Will you be a hero?
Here are all the US preorder links for The Heart of the World.
Here are all the UK preorder links for The Heart of the World.
And here in Australia we don’t have a one-stop shop, so here’s links to Dymocks, Readings, Amazon, QBD, and your local independent bookshop for The Heart of the World.
And here’s that puppy I promised you
Here’s Molly, hard at work helping me draft my 2026 book. How is this helpful, you ask? Well, would you move, and disturb this angelic sleep? No, me neither. And so I stay where I am, and keep on writing.
I’ll be back in your inboxes as usual in a couple of weeks, for my September letter — in the meantime, if you have any questions, leave them here!
Amie always put your books front and center and never apologize. Being an author is never saying you're sorry. I think : )
So adorbs! I love it! I love this saying: Your pup will change your world, but to your pup, you are their world. <3
