Hi, my friends,
I’m writing with exciting — and exclusive — news! Both these things will be announced on social media over the course of the next week, but I always give my newsletter subscribers my big news first — and I want to give you a first run at the preorder offer as well, as supplies are limited! Please don’t share this information before it’s released publicly.
USA tour this September!
If you’re in Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, Houston or Sacramento — or you can get yourself there — I would love to see you this September.
I haven’t been on tour since 2018! Back in 2019 I gave birth the same week that Aurora Rising came out, and in 2020… we were all booked up and ready to travel, but you know what happened there. So I’m beyond ready to see my US readers again.
If I’m coming to your city, please let me know in the comments if you’ll be there! If I’m not coming, I’m sorry — I’m hoping to be back next year, and it’ll most likely be all different cities then. Aussies, please make sure you open my August newsletter for news about Australian appearances. UK, I’m sorry — you had me last year!
Some of these events will require tickets — you can see links by clicking here, and we’ll add more to the website as they come in. I’ll also remind you to check again when I send my August newsletter. For now, put them in your diaries!
Please do read on for the preorder offer, but first, some FAQs on tour.
I can't come! Can I still get a signed and personalised copy?
Yes, of course! Contact any of the bookshops on the tour, and they'll be happy to help.
Can I bring books from home to be signed?
Absolutely, though a purchase of The Heart of the World is required to enter the signing line – this ensures the bookstores and my publisher, who are providing staff/space and footing the bill for all this travel respectively, don’t end up wishing they hadn’t.
Is there a limit to the number of books I can bring?
Nope! You bring it, I will sign it. If you’ve bought the full backlist, then (a) please be careful you don’t injure yourself lifting them, and (b) please consider waiting until the folks with just one book have been through. You won’t be forgotten, promise!
I’m worried about the wait to get my book signed, what should I do?
If you have small children with you, a very long journey home, or a reason you’re not able to stand in a line (which you do not need to disclose) then please let a staff member know, and you’ll be given priority.
I haven’t been to a book event before, what do I need to know?
You’re about to have so much fun! There’ll be chairs set out, and I’ll be up the front with the author I’m in conversation with. We’ll talk for a while about my books, and then there’ll be time for questions from the audience. After that, attendees will line up, and I’ll sign everyone’s books. There’ll also be a chance to take a picture with me, or to ask a quick question. And then you’re done! If you’re coming alone, remember you’ll be sitting in an audience of people who love books – if you introduce yourself and tell them you’re on your own, you’ll have new friends in no time.
I want to claim the preorder offer for The Heart of the World -- can I do that if I buy the book during the tour?
Yes, absolutely! Just make sure you lodge your receipt by the end of September 22nd, and you're covered. If you buy the book in person, you can snap a pic of the receipt with your phone.
Preorder offer for The Heart of the World
I’m so thrilled to announce that the preorder offer for The Heart of the World is going to be something that’s been requested over and over since you all saw the gorgeous covers for this duology.
Lodge your receipt by September 22nd, and you’ll receive art prints of the portraits of Selly and Leander that appear on The Isles of the Gods and The Heart of the World, both created by Aykut Aydogdu. We’ve taken out all the title text, so you can just enjoy the details of the portraits themselves. They’re genuinely gorgeous. These will never be for sale, so this is your only chance to get your hands on them!
This offer is supported by my publishers in the USA, UK and Australia, meaning you need a postal address in one of those countries to claim. If you don’t live there, don’t despair — the prints fit in a regular envelope, so if you use a friend’s address, you won’t be asking them to forward a big parcel on to you.
You can find a whole list of FAQs about the preorder, plus the forms to lodge your receipt, by clicking right here.
And that’s it for now! I’m so, so looking forward to being back on the road again, and I can’t wait to see as many of you as possible. In the meantime, make sure you lodge those receipts to claim your prints!
See you in August for a regular letter!
Crying because I forgot to keep my receipt from my "The Heart of the World" that I purchased at your talk/stop in Powells on the 18th. Now I can't get the incentive. 😭
I want to come see you, but don't want to book my flight until the tickets at the book store are procured. Do you know when tickets will be available to purchase for B&N in Seattle Washington?
