Oh myyyy goodness where to start....

The Illuminae files completely took me by surprise and I absolutely devoured all of them. I read them along with the audio because I wanted to see all the graphics while also listening to the sound effects and the voices of each of the characters. The audiobooks are INCREDIBLE and the voices of each of the characters fit perfectly. They definitely gave me a higher standard for future audiobooks. My favorite part of these books is the puzzle slowly forming and connecting throughout the stories. The little teeny tiny details hidden in graphics, or in the messages sent back and forth helping to slowly reveal the completed picture were just *chefs kiss*

ALSO THE PARACHUTE. Quite literally screamed out loud when I read that part (IYKYK). Best thing ever!!

Illuminae became my favourite book series since the day I finished reading it. One of my favourite characters is AIDAN. I have "<ERROR>" tattoed on my arm. I've read it so many times and I hope next year, for the anniversary, a special edition or another book in the series or the movie, or else is released. It would be amazing ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ I always recommend it to my friends and everyone loves it. It's a pity they stopped releasing the series in Spanish but luckily I know English. I'm so exited to have te opportunity to win some Illuminae merch and an arc ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰โค๏ธ

My favorite moment of reading the series would have to be the feeling of seeing the stains in the journal in Gemina. Seeing them grow filled me with dread and excitement as I read, a feeling I always love while reading.

I love this series so much, they're my favourite books!! I read them in year 5 or 6 and since then I recommend them to anyone who will listen! Now I can't stop reading your books ๐Ÿ˜…. One of my fav moments was when Nik told Hanna about his Babushka, that was funny as. A moment that stands out to me in Isle of the Gods is Selly getting her dress, or the ship going down.

SO great to see SO many comments! :)

QUESTION: On ordering the Isles of the Gods Duology, how long does it take for shipping? I'm in the US and moving to another state in about 1.5 months. Should I place my new address on it do you think?

For the endpapers, my books are already packed away (and it's killing me!!!! Have my kindle in hand at least 6 hrs/day - lol). Okay, I purchased the kindle version - lol, why not? - and the scene I think would be awesome for one of these (not sure if it's spoilery or not) would be an image of the spirits around the boat and when they come upon the Isles of the Gods (huge in the background). I'd love to see your image from your imagination of it. :) And how the spirits wander/wrap themselves around everything. Ugh, have to read that book again! Love it! <3

The illuminate files fell in my lap in 7th grade after a friend simply wouldnโ€™t stop raving about it. I was really into sci-fi, but had fallen out of love with reading due to my increasingly busy schedule. I started Illuminae at the beginning of the week, and had finished Gemina by that Friday. These books are the ones that reignited my love for reading. These characters feel like childhood friends to me and I revisit them and their world once or twice every year. If Iโ€™m ever in a reading slump, I literally walk to my bookshelf and pick up Gemina (Hanna Donnelly and her dad hold a very special place in my heart). I finished reading the series a few days before Aurora Rising released, and the second that my library purchased a copy I had it in my hands. Squad 312 got me through a very specific time in high school and I can never thank them or you and Jay enough for creating two of the worlds I love the most. Thank you thank you thank you for following your dreams and becoming an author. Thank you for telling these characters stories and thank you for giving them the happy endings they deserved (albeit with a whole lot of tears on my end, but I know theyโ€™re happy).

Illuminae was the first series I both read physical while listening to it so I could get all the amazing pictures and book experience while having the amazing cast and sound effects. I love to listen once a year or so and just get all the feels!

the illuminae files. how do i even beginโ€ฆ i found it in my moms library of not-yet-started books. it immediately caught my attention (because of the size and the color, lol) but i didnโ€™t grab it at first. after a while of back and forth in my head, i decided to at least start it. and holy moly, am i glad i did! i just finished obsidio today. iโ€™m obsessed with this series.

main thing i want to know is what the heck was kady going to say in response to AIDAN?!?! it just says, โ€œI love you, Kady.โ€ and you expect me not to be curious after i see she was going to respond?? like what would she even say to that? ugh iโ€™m so sad iโ€™ll never know ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

after the illuminate files i read a good girls guide to murder which is similar in the different formats. ugh, i miss the illuminae files. thank you for contributing so much to one of the best book series on the planet โค๏ธ

I am yet to read Illuminae, but as you speak of your winter book pile in your newsletter, this trilogy is part of mine. I have always meant to, but books for me must call me at a right time and place. I walked into a bookstore last year to purchase another book, and there were editions signed by you literally calling my name. And so they came home with me.

Lately my reading brain hasnโ€™t been very focused and there are some books Iโ€™m just not willing to dig into until I pick them up to devour, to saviour and really enjoy. These books are in that part of my TBR pile. Soon my pretties!

It will be the merging of two literary greats when I do go down this rabbit holeโ€ฆI havenโ€™t read your collabs with Jay. I have read and loved Empire of the Vampire, about to read Empire of the Damned, and have read and loved The Isles of the Gods (and cannot wait for The Heart of the World), The Other Side of the Sky, and Beyond the End of the World.

Eee! Loved this newsletter. <3 And cannot wait to read Finding North. And oh, would so love to win this giveaway. You always have the best swag. <3 It's been years now since I read Illuminae. I'm not sure what my favorite moment is. Just.. the love I have for the series. How very different the books were from what I have read, with the formatting. How awesome it was. How the books ruined me, haha. But they were perfection. And omg, yes. I have my name in book three, eeee. I so love that :D

I love Illuminae!! I haven't read Gemina yet but I'm really excited to!

I loved the suspense of the countdowns to intercepts and numbers of infected currently aboard. I kept reading lluminae in class because it was so good and I couldn't stop lol.

I'll never forget the first time I read the illuminae series - it was during high school and i read it in tandem with two of my other book obsessed friends. I've been obsessed with all your books ever since - but illuminae will always hold such a special place in my heart. I've been a fan for ages now (I'm in uni now) but I'm so excited to come see you at the BWF in June ๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿฉท

I will never forget that I was browsing my school library in 2016 and saw a gorgeous orange cover, so I tried Illuminae, and it was absolutely amazing! My favourite part of the series is the formatting - it's so unique with the casualty lists, briefing notes and maps/diagrams. I vividly remember on page 265 of Illuminae, there is simply a list of the words "AIDAN AIDAN AIDAN AIDAN...", which was so unsettling and exciting when I read it at the time. And to top it all off, I was in Melbourne in 2016 and met Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff at the Melbourne Writers Festival. Thank you for signing my book and for the mini conversation we had - it was absolutely amazing!
